In terms of market capitalization, Apple is the most valuable company in the world. Its value is more than 800 billion dollar. The company did not invent the personal computer, the smartphone or the tablet, but was able to change electronic devices into lifestyle products. And it is making billions and billions from that. But is has been some time since Apple really stunned the world with a new product. The Apple Watch didn’t have the wow factor. Apple is going to concern itself with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). These techniques have been around for a while, but have not been able to reach the mainstream. Pokémon Go has been the exception to that rule and this augmented reality game has shown the potential of the technique. Apple did not invent AR or VR, but with its popular and technically sophisticated devices, the company might be instrumental in popularizing these techniques. And, in the meantime, boost the value of its stocks.
Investors are keeping an eye on some geopolitical issues: terrorist attacks in London ahead of the UK election and the scheduled public testimony of fired Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey. US stocks closed lower Monday. The Dow fell 0.10%, the Dow closed 0.12% lower and the NASDAQ had to take a somewhat bigger step back: -0.16%. Volatility was on the rise with the VIX closing above ten points. UVXY ETFs gained 0.67%, whereas XIV ETNs lost 0.43%.
Danny Daredevil booked another gain and saw his RSS rise to 379%. Adventurous Anny‘s RSS remained at 39%. Solid Suzy and Lazy Larry had to take another small step back: their RSS closed at 21%.
